Aquí us publico la resposta que vaig enviar al Nature. Malhauradament ells no la publicaran, però almenys han publicat altres respostes. Si voleu i teniu temps en podeu fer difusió! No deixem que es diguin més mentides. I menys gent que no sap que parla i només es dedica a repetir discursos ja fets per lo més fatxa que corre pel país!

Dear Nature Editors,

Regarding the letter called 'Schools in a third of Spain teach only in a minority language' of the Spanish scientist José María Rojo to Nature (Nature 454; Vol. 575; 2008). In his letter he tried to give the impression that in one third of Spain it is impossible to learn in Spanish. In this one third he included Catalunya, Mallorca & Valencia, Galicia and Euskadi where the people can speak Catalan, Gallego and Euskera respectively as well as Spanish. I think he forgot to mention that in these regions the students have Spanish lessons as well as the regional language lessons in both primary and secondary school. Furthermore, in Catalunya they are discussing now to add a new hour of Spanish. Anyway, in these regions, in the street the Spanish predominates over the other languages, at least in the cities and towns. In addition, there are much more newspapers and TV channels in Spanish than in Catalan or other regional languages. Obviously, the children can learn more easily Spanish than other languages. I am a Catalan researcher and I went to a Catalan school where I learnt Spanish, Catalan, English and French. I am very proud of speaking perfectly Spanish and Catalan and even I live in a Catalan city where I have to use the Spanish more often than the Catalan. However, my mother tongue is the Catalan and I think I must have the right of communicate myself in Catalan with the Spanish Institutions because is a co-official language, instead of having to change to Spanish.

Actually, behind this new defense of a common language for all the Spanish country there is a new strategy to reinforce the more radical Spanish Nationalism. They try to give to the World the impression that in Spain the Spanish is attacked by the regional languages. They are playing the victim with the purpose of reducing to a minimal expression the languages that are spoken in Spain which are not the common one (the Spanish). It is really curious see also how so many Spanish intellectuals have decided to sign a manifesto favoring the use of a common language in Spain. How can we understand that a intellectual wants to use a unique language? How persons, which are supposed to be given to activities or pursuits that require the exercise of their intellect, wants only use and communicate themselves in one language? I just find one reason, a political one, they have a strong Spanish Nationalism feeling, and therefore they must not confuse the public opinion. Fortunately, the Spanish has got in our planet a very good health and it does not require any campaign to save it.

In the Catalan case, I think that the Spanish Government must be more worried in the fact that one of the languages that are spoken in Spain, which is the ninth language in Europe, is not recognized yet by the European Institutions, instead of trying to make happy the more radical Spanish Nationalism. Also they must be worried about the level of English of the Spanish population, which actually is not very high.

Un altre cop som agredits des de Madrid. Aquest cop per un pobre ignorant que des de més de 600 km de distància vols ensenyar a viure en territoris de parla no espanyola. Quina llàstima que aquest individu faci servir una revista científica per atacar altres territoris i fer propaganda política encoberta, segurament això dóna una idea del tipus de persona que deu ser:

Your Editorial ‘Comédie française’ (Nature 453, 1144; 10.1038/453114b 2008) argues that opposition by the members of the Académie française to including regional languages in the French constitution is disingenuous. But maybe these French academics have looked south and seen what has happened in Spain, where “regional and minority languages, like endangered species”, are considered to “merit protection” by several of the regional governments.

Today, it is impossible to obtain public or publicly funded education in Spanish, the common language, in the schools of about one third of the country, including Catalonia, Mallorca and Valencia. For example, teaching is conducted in Catalan or one of its variants in northeastern Spain, and in Gallego in Galicia in the northwest.

In the Basque country, despite the obscurity of the language, education programmes will be available only in Basque from 2009 and programmes taught partially in Spanish will be dropped.

This is an absurd situation, where in some places it is easier for Spanish children to study in English (for example, in the British Council schools) than in Spanish, the language that the Spanish constitution has set as the common official language.

It has stimulated prominent — and by no means all conservative — intellectuals, headed by the novelist Mario Vargas Llosa, to sign a manifesto calling to defend the rights of Spanish-speaking people in their own country (see http://tinyurl.com/692c5g, or in automatic-translation English at http://tinyurl.com/5fvbrp). ¡Qué horror!

AIR BERLIN parlant del que no sap

Fa uns dies el director general de la companyia aèria Air Berlín feia unes desafortunades declaracions al magazine de la seva companyia on deixava el català com a llengua que s'intenta imposar sobre el "afeblit" castellà a les nostres terres (entenent com a nostres els Països Catalans). Tot perquè el govern Balear intentava que el català tingués més presència dins la seva companyia. Lo que pot semblar lo més normal del món, ja que aquesta companyia està operant en territoris on es parla català (Aeroports de València, Palma, Barcelona o Eivissa), per aquesta companyia sembla ser una agressió contra el castellà. Aquest és un clar cas de desinformació i de no contrastar la informació, cosa molt greu en un director de una companyia aèria com Air Berlín. Evidentment, el responsable de la companyia a Espanya ha ratificat les paraules del seu director general.


Però si aquest pobre ignorant, anomenat Joaquim Hunold, o la companyia Air Berlín vol guerra la tindrà, us convido a firmar en el manifest d'aquí sota i propagar la informació aviam si li col·lapsem el email de queixes:

Aquí us deixo uns fragments de les declaracions d'aquest pobre senyor, que lo millor que té es que s'assembla a Lex Luttor...

"Hoy el castellano ya no es una lengua oficial".

“La partición de españa en nacionalismos regionales es de hecho un retorno a los miniestados medievales".

"¿Les tengo tambien que dar cursos de catalán por decreto a mis empleados? ¿Y los que vuelan a Galicia o al País Vasco querrán que nos dirijamos en gallego o en vasco? ¿Es que ya no hablan en castellano?"

No en tenim prou amb els feixistes d'aquí que ara a sobre des d'Alemanya ens vindran atacar la nostra llengua o altres llengües de l'Estat. Suposo que pel que llegeixo aquí aquest home només li calia afegir que 'con Franco todo iba mejor'. A part aquest discurs no us resulta familiar? Quines influències li suposeu amb aquest paio? No és el típic discurs de 'que el castellano está perseguido en Catalunya'? Afortunadament, com ja sabeu alguns, he estat uns mesos vivint Alemanya, i sé que això no és el sentir dels alemanys, sinó les declaracions d'un inculte més.

A més a més, Suposo que ha oblidat que a Mallorca mitja població es veu colonitzada per població alemanya buscant el sol i la platja i que, fins i tot, en alguns llocs els cambrers es dirigeixen en alemany directament als clients. Resulta que en aquesta terra "tant hostil", principal destí turístic de vostès, també si parla el català, a part de l'alemany i el castellà. Llàstima que vostè només vulgui sentir parlar de números i no tingui cap interès en conèixer la cultura d'allà on vostè fa negoci. Em sembla que està parlant del que no en sap i crec que molt mal assesorat! Em sap greu per vostè, no sap lo que es perd.
